Ladies and gentlemen, family and friends, we gather here today to remember and celebrate the extraordinary life of  Dora Pompilio Bertucci. Dora was born in the picturesque country of Italy on August 13th, 1930, to the late Gennaro Pompilio and Angelina Pompilio. She was the sister to late, William, Ida and Bianca.

Dora’s life was a testament to strength, resilience, and a deep love for her family. She embarked on a remarkable journey, filled with love, adventure, and cherished moments. She married the love of her life, and together they welcomed four children into their world  3 daughters and 1 son. Her family grew with the addition of seven grandchildren 3 boys and 4 girls and later, five great-grandchildren 2 boys and 3 girls.

In 1982, Nonna Dora and her eldest daughter, took a courageous step to leave their Italian roots behind and start a new chapter in Miami, Florida. Her enduring love for her family was evident as she later moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, to help raise her three grandchildren.

Dora was a cherished member of the Italian community, where she made countless friends and shared her vibrant spirit. She worked as a porter at Arizona Charlie’s Decatur, and in her free time, she enjoyed quality moments with her family and friends, relished buffets, poker machines, Keno, and Bingo. She loved trying her luck at the lotto and was indulged in Italian television shows.

She was an indomitable woman, known for her kindness, humor, and boundless love. Dora had a few cherished loves in her life – the color green, cats, bread, and lions. You would often find her adorned in the color green, surrounded by cat-themed everything, and tending to her own feline friends while feeding the neighborhood cats. Her love for bread was a testament to her enduring spirit, having endured ten long years without it during World War II. As a Leo, she proudly wore a gold lion’s head necklace that symbolized her strength and resilience.

Today, we say our farewells to an extraordinary woman who leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. Dora is survived by her three daughters, her loving memories, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was a remarkable woman, and her spirit will live on in our hearts forever.

Dora Pompilio Bertucci, was called home to the Lord on October 11th, 2023. Dora you were a shining light in our lives, always smiling, and positive.  Your legacy will continue to inspire us. May your soul find eternal peace as you reunite with your beloved husband and son parents and siblings in paradise. Watch over us from above. Grazie mille for the love and warmth you brought into our lives. Vola in alto con gli Angeli. Ti amo molto Mama e’ Nonna. Riposa in pace.
