Brenda Cheryl Dickinson-Dash passed peacefully at Nathan Adelson Hospice on Wednesday, November 29th, 2023 at the age of seventy-eight after years of living with COPD. Preceded in death by her older brother Mervyn and parents Marcus and Maisie Dickinson-Dash, Brenda will be greatly missed by her older sisters, Beryl living in Vegas and Veronica in Riverside, and her younger brother Randolph in Montreal. Brenda also leaves behind many dear nephews & nieces and countless friends.
Brenda was a trailblazer and luminary figure in the music industry, managing artists from award winning singer-songwriters Brenda Russell and Regina Belle to acclaimed hip hop trio, Digable Planets. Born August 13th, 1945, Brenda’s journey began with a fervent commitment to social justice, notably marked by her pivotal role in the Sir George Williams University Affair in 1969. Like her mother before her, Brenda’s unwavering dedication to justice inspired countless others.
Beyond professional achievements, Brenda will be remembered for her boldness, tenacity, indomitable spirit and her infectious laughter. A celebration of Brenda’s life will be held in the Spring of 2024.
