Chandar Singh, 72, beloved husband, father, brother, and uncle died at home in Henderson, NV, on
March 8, 2021. Born on April 1, 1948, in Raiwaqa Navua, Fiji, Chandar was one of twelve children to the late Hazara Singh and Latchmin Kaur. He proudly called the Fiji Islands home until he moved to Sacramento, California, in March 2001.
A man of few words, Chandar will be remembered for his generous and kind heart. He loved all children, especially his many nieces and nephews. His proudest achievement was becoming a father to his only son, Amar Jeet.
Chandar is survived by his wife, Balbant Kaur, who he married on February 7, 1975; his son, Amar Jeet (Chad) of Las Vegas; and siblings, Pritam Singh; Raj Kaur; Bachan Singh; Dharam Singh; Karam Singh; Surendra Singh; Birendra Singh; and Basant Kaur.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hazara Singh; mother, Latchmin Kaur; and siblings, Bahadur Singh; Suchet Singh; and Harjit Singh.
Friends and family will be received from 10 AM – 12 PM at McDermott’s Funeral & Cremation Service, 2121 Western Avenue Suite A3 in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 13, with a private cremation service immediately following. Guests are invited to Sukhmani Sahib Ka Path and Langar at Gurdwara Gur Nanak Prakash Las Vegas, located at 7640 Haven St, Las Vegas, NV 89123, from 1 – 2:30 PM.
